Raipur. Ramkrishna CARE Hospitals unveiled its upcoming Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute during the inaugural ceremony of OncoSphere 2.0 , its flagship national oncology summit, bringing together more than 600 oncologists, cancer specialists, researchers, and healthcare professionals from across India.

The unveiling marks a significant milestone in strengthening cancer care across Chhattisgarh and Central India. While the oncology programme is already operational with a multidisciplinary team of leading specialists, the dedicated Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute is scheduled to open in August 2026, expanding access to advanced cancer treatment, technology, and comprehensive care closer to home.

The Institute was unveiled by Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Hon'ble Health and Family Welfare Minister of Chhattisgarh , in the presence of Dr. Sandeep Dave , Managing & Clinical Director, Ramkrishna CARE Hospitals; Mr. Haresh Trivedi, Regional CEO – West & Central India, CARE Hospitals; Dr. Ravi Jaiswal, Senior Medical Oncologist; Dr. Mou Roy, Senior Surgical Oncologist; Dr. Naveen Jain, Senior Surgical Oncologist; Dr. Gourav Gupta, Senior Radiation Oncologist; Dr. Neeru Kerketta, Senior Consultant – Nuclear Medicine; and distinguished oncology faculty from across the country.

With cancer cases rising across Chhattisgarh and Central India, many patients continue to travel to metropolitan cities for advanced diagnostics, radiation therapy, and specialized oncology services. The upcoming Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute aims to address this gap by bringing advanced cancer care infrastructure and multidisciplinary expertise closer to patients in the region.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said, "Strengthening access to advanced cancer care is critical to improving outcomes for patients and families. The unveiling of Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute is an important step towards enhancing oncology infrastructure and expanding access to specialized care across the region."

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Dave, Managing & Clinical Director, Ramkrishna CARE Hospitals , said, "Chhattisgarh and the larger Central India region are witnessing a growing burden of cancer, making it essential to expand access to comprehensive, technology-enabled, and multidisciplinary cancer care. While our oncology programme is already serving patients today, the opening of Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute in August will mark the next phase of our journey to deliver advanced cancer care closer to home. Our vision is to make Raipur a leading hub for advanced cancer care in Central India, ensuring that patients have access to world-class oncology services without having to travel to other cities for specialized treatment."

Scheduled to become operational in August 2026, Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute will bring together medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, and supportive care services within an integrated model of treatment.

The facility will house the Versa HD™️ Radiation Linac, among the world's most advanced radiation therapy platforms, enabling highly precise, personalized, and efficient cancer treatment. The Institute is being developed to provide comprehensive cancer care supported by advanced technology, multidisciplinary expertise, and patient-centric services.

The first day of OncoSphere 2.0 featured scientific sessions, expert lectures, panel discussions, and multidisciplinary discussions on emerging developments in oncology, including precision medicine, immunotherapy, artificial intelligence, gastrointestinal cancers, breast cancer, gynecological malignancies, uro-oncology, and evolving treatment approaches transforming cancer care. The summit continues on the June 14 with additional scientific sessions and expert-led discussions on emerging trends and innovations in oncology.
